I think that you should be able to highlight certain mp3s and have the track numbers increment from a certain point that you select. It takes a long time to edit track numbers by hand.

simply use the Auto-numbering Wizard from the Tools menu (or Ctrl+K).

Is there anyway you can speed up the mp3 scanning process, everytime i go to a dir where i have alot of mp3's it takes forever to load them all.. anyway around this? Maybe you could create a file that has that dirs info and it will scan for changes and not rescan the whole thing every time?

maybe the MP3s have a lot of padding outside the ID3v2-tag. Somtimes these performance issues are solved by removing the whole ID3v2-tag and rewrite it.
