TSOP/ARTISTSORT and TSOA/ALBUMSORT for mp3/FLAC

How can I add a field to the tag panel (or in the extended tags) that will become TSOP for an .mp3 file and ARTISTSORT for a FLAC file?

Same question for TSOA / ALBUMSORT and TCMP / COMPILATION.

Thanks.

You can check this list for ID3v2 frames and their name in Mp3tag.
https://docs.mp3tag.de/mapping

Example:
For MP3 and TSOP you have ARTISTSORTORDER and in flac you want to use ARTISTSORT

Two different tag names, but you want to use the same tag name for mp3 and flac.
You can also do this, but you need to make some changes in Mp3tag:

You need to download Mp3tag v2.44d
Go to "Tools > Options > Tags > Mappings"
Add these entries:

Tag Source Target

ID3v2 BAND ALBUMARTIST
ID3v2 BANDSORTORDER ALBUMARTISTSORT
ID3v2 ALBUMSORTORDER ALBUMSORT
ID3v2 ARTISTSORTORDER ARTISTSORT
ID3v2 ITUNESCOMPILATION COMPILATION
ID3v2 COMPOSERSORTORDER COMPOSERSORT

(I added some fields that you might also want to use.)

So then you can use mp3 and flac with the same tag fields.
Just add e.g. COMPILATION to the tag panel or extended tags (tpye it in if it is not selectable)

Great - thanks!

It didn't work for me until I did this, though:

Tag type Source Target

VorbisComment ALBUMARTIST BAND
VorbisComment ALBUMARTISTSORT BANDSORTORDER
VorbisComment ALBUMSORT ALBUMSORTORDER
VorbisComment ARTISTSORT ARTISTSORTORDER
VorbisComment COMPILATION ITUNESCOMPILATION
VorbisComment COMPOSERSORT COMPOSERSORTORDER

In Mp3tag, I use the names in the right column. And the middle column is what gets written to the file. So the columns are really "Source (file)" and "Target (Mp3tag)".

Thanks again,
