Hello,
I have enabled "automatic checks for update" as I want to use the latest stable release.
However, most of the time the message appears as I'm about to start a tagging work (quite logical, as the message appears at program start). However, I don't have time to update right now, so I close the message and postpone the update.
But, soon after, on subsequent program starts, the message appears again. And again, and again. Quickly enough, I start ranting, before I scream "FU FU FU 
MESSAGE PROMPT 
LEAVE ME ALONE STOP P*ING ME". Then I roll and I cry.
Therefore, could you please consider reducing the frequency of the "update available" messages?
