Updating Fileowner And Filecomputer Tags

Hi,

I searched for Mp3tag Community for questions related to the fileowner and filecomputer tags, but came up empty.

Goal / Big Picture:

I would like to use MP3Tag to update/correct the fileowner and filecomputer tags for .flac files.

Background:

I have over 100,000 .flac files in over 10,000 directories on a NAS that I have connected to my desktop and laptop (both using Windows 11) using the NAS music directory as a shared drive. From either the desktop or laptop, MP3Tag works flawlessly to update the tags in the .flac files on the NAS. When I login to the NAS (from the desktop or laptop) I use the id of the default NAS user (olst) and the hostname of the NAS (NAS2024). When I use the NAS interface, the files appear to be owned by the user olst. As far as I can tell, "olst" is the correct fileowner tag value and "NAS2024" is the correct filecomputer tag value.

General Problem Statement:

The fileowner tag values and filecomputer tag values are not correct (yes this annoys me and I have spent alot of time trying to figure this issue out). If you look at the red boxes/arrows (in the pic attached below), the files appear to have a fileowner tag of a deleted user and the filecomputer value seems to be the name from my desktop computer (or sometimes the old IP address of my desktop computer when I used a different network NAT configuration).

Detailed MP3Tag Problem Statement:

Using MP3Tag I cannot update/correct the fileowner and filecomputer tags for .flac files. Using MP3Tag I can get some of the file attributes (File Name (%_filename%), File Location (%_folderpath%) and Date Created (%_file_create_datetime%)) to show up in MP3Tag's horizontal columns (see screenshot below). But fileowner (using %fileowner% or %_fileowner%) and filecomputer (using %filecomputer% or %_filecomputer%) never populate in the columns (see screenshot below). The MP3Tag Tag Panel, using the same field values as the columns, will not populate or update the fileowner and filecomputer tags and even the values that populated in the columns (%_filename%, %_folderpath% and %_file_create_datetime%) don't populate or update successfully.

Sad Conclusion (Thus Far):

I thought that changing the fileowner and filecomputer tags would be simple using MP3tag. It may be, but for the life of me I can't figure it out.

As usual, any suggestions appreciated.

I am afraid that changing the security settings for files is no task for MP3tag but solely for the operating system.
