User-defined genres cleared

I don't know what happened. I just noticed sometime today all my user-defined genres on the list have cleared.

Not here.
Did you have a look at the file genres.ini in
%appdata%\Mp3Tag\data?
Are the genres still there?
If not, what is the file-creation and file-modification date of genres.ini?

It had a creation date of 4/19/2021
modified 4/16/2021

I found in file history 5/18/2021 and restored.
My genres are back.

I didn't think of checking the files last night and only opened from the program and not any further.
