User Defined Tags - Dropdown of valid values

Hi.

Mac Version : 1.8.22 under Sonoma 14.4.1.

I have on more than one occasion lost playlists from my various android devices (I keep changing devices).

I am now trying to determine whether it is possible within MP3Tag to allocate songs to one or more playlists.

To that end I have created a couple of user defined tags PlayList 1, PlayList 2 and PlayList 3.

What I am now trying to do, as one is able to do for “Genre”, is define a list of valid values from which one can select a valid value, for example :- "Chill Out", "Travel Bum”, "Driving Down The Road” (and these values to be available to all tracks).

I can’t seem to find a way to acheive this so I’m wondering whether it is possible or indeed is there a better way of achieving the desired result.

For example.

I’m am happy to be able to allocate to just three lists at the moment.

It's currently not possible to do this in the same way as with Genres. However, you can create three different Action Categories for PlayList 1, PlayList 2, and PlayList 3 and create one action of type Format tag field for each of the values.

This way, you can select the relevant files and apply the action via the Actions menu, where each of the created categories is available as an extra submenu.

Thanks for this.

After some playing around I was able to achieve what I was after.
