WAV files - convert to Itunes tags

Hi. I have nearly 1000 files recorded in a WAV files format which have tags for artist/title etc but want to import them to iTunes. Can I use MP3TAG to convert the WAV tags to ID3v2.2 ? I guess it may be simple but just need pointing in the right direction. Also can I batch convert them?

You can see which tag versions MP3tag supports in
File>Options>Tags>Mpeg.

AFAIK wav files use WAV chunks to store information. If iTunes cannot read them ...
