Why does refreshing the files not show changes

Mp3Tag does not show changes to the tags made in other editors, not upon refresh or simply reloading the directory. The only way get it to register the change is by clicking on each individual file. This is annoying and tedious.

Sorry, but I simply cannot use Mp3Tag for everything because other editors do certain things quicker and more intuitively for me so I will continue to use Tag&Rename for certain functions. I like the browser in T&R instead of a flat file interface. It makes checking an album at a glance much easier and faster, especially dealing with album art as I can see it is present in each file at a quick glance

But when I change something like the “Album” field the change does not register in Mp3Tag no matter how many times you refresh or change away from and back to the same directory. You HAVE to click on each file. Not only tedious but a time waster.

Any suggestions?

If you use the library (File → Options → Library) for a quicker load of the files, Mp3tag will not update the view of your files on a refresh, as long as the files did not change it’s modification date. If the modification date does not change, the tags are read from the library and the library does not get updated.

Check if the files that you made changes to get an updated modification date when they are saved by the external program.

In Mp3tag, you can update the relevant files by selecting them and pressing CTRL-t. This will force a reload of the tags, show also the changes and update the library.
