First of all... great software!
Heres the prob...
After tagging my files... I played them on WMP 11 Beta 2...
And then some of the files displays this message...
Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.
Also, I tried playing my files in itunes and foobar. They are ok...
I think i am missing something here... I need help!
Is there something wrong with WMP 11 Beta 2?
I am using mp3tag2.36h
What kind of files are we talking about here (what file type)?

.mp3 Only.
Its odd though... Some files are OK... But some display the error message.
I dont remember seeing this error message in WMP 11 Beta 1.
WM11 beta2 has problems with default ID3v2.3 UTF-16.
Therefore, go to File>Options....than Tags>Mpeg>Write and change it to ID3v2.4 UTF-8.
After this go back to tag editing and just save songs. It will automatically save it in the new format that is recognizable by WM11B2.

Please don't use ID3v2.4 UTF-8 with WMP. WMP doesn't recognize it at all and adds a 2.3 before it (file has two ID3v2 tags afterwards).
You could try v2.3 ISO-8859-1 but I read that this Beta 2 has some general ID3v2 problems.
Maybe you should wait for the next version or tell Microsoft about your problem.
Yes it does and works flowless, i just encode 10 cds and it even sorts them as it should. Beta1 doesnt work with -8. Beta 2 does.

Ok... Ive tested it in the ff:
ID3v2.4 UTF-8 --- OK
ID3v2.3 UTF-16 --- ERROR
ID3v2.3 ISO-8859-1 --- OK
I hope Microsoft gets this fixed. Thanks for the help!
Just to correct the previous posting: WMP 11 (final) does not support ID3v2.4 at all. If you are seeing tags being read, you must have a ID3v1.1 tag in there, too.
