Installing with

select the optional components you wish to install: [ ] Start Menu Shortcuts

(unchecked) causes existing mp3tag start menu shortcuts to be deleted.

This is intended behaviour.

OK, except the UI should accord. It was rather a surprise to find that installing an upgrade deleted the shortcuts, including those I added to the menu.
