Hi there, first thanks for Mp3taf, it's friking awesome.
My problem is the following, I've need to extract the year information from the conteing folder.
The folder is like this: "artist - (year) - album"
I tried with the following action.
Action type: Guess values
Source format: %_directory%
Guessing pattern: %dummy% - (%year%) - %dummy%
I'm guessing it has something to do with the ( ) , because I tried with artist and album info, and it worked fine.

That should work. Are there parentheses ( ) in either the artist or album part of the folder name? If so, it would disrupt a pattern like that.
yeah, the ( ) is in the folder name, for example this would be a folder "Daft Punk - (2005) - Human After All" the quotations are not in the folder name of course.
If you do not insist on an action, you could try the converter filename - tag first.
It has a preview function that may help you to adjust the mask.
After you have found the right pattern, you could recycle it in an action.
finally I did it like this:
Action type: Guess values
Source format: %_directory%
Guessing pattern: %artist% - (%year%) - %album%
and for some reason worked, luckily the other info in the folder is accurate. I sure hope thel be some way to do just the year, oh well...
