A clean system should install MP3tag properly. I cannot say what has gone wrong in your system, how many different installations methods have been used, what the access rights for particular folders are. These would be the buttons that could be twiddled.

Hi, No "twiddling". Default install to C:\Program Files Standard install of Win 11 Pro. I think in the past, I may have installed the 32bit version of MP3Tag, then uninstalled it for the 64bit version (can't be 100% certain though....) Thanks, Paul

Does the Explorer Context Menu extension work for you? If so, you can ignore this error message — I still don't know why it's appearing on some systems.
