Hi,
When I try to install ANY 3.27.xx version of MP3Tag, I get an error box near the end of the install saying:
Staging Sparse Package failed
C:\Program Files\Mp3tag
Mp3tagShell.msix
Windows cannot install package 35795FlorianHeidenreich.Mp3tag.ShellExtension_3.26.2.0_x64__hyhc94k68ebpm because it is already installed with a different external location.
The program appears to work (with a few glitches every now and again).
I have tried uninstalling and deleting every file/folder with MP3Tag in it, then going through the registry and deleting everything with MP3Tag in it, then re-booting.
When I try to install again, I get the same problem - every time.
Is there anything else I can do to get a clean install ?
Hi,
Sorry, I don't understand what you are trying to say.
As I already outlined -
I uninstalled the program and deleted the leftover registry entries.
Rebooted the computer.
I'm using the x64 version of MP3Tag.
A clean system should install MP3tag properly.
I cannot say what has gone wrong in your system, how many different installations methods have been used, what the access rights for particular folders are.
These would be the buttons that could be twiddled.
Does the Explorer Context Menu extension work for you? If so, you can ignore this error message — I still don't know why it's appearing on some systems.
OK, I have done the install/uninstall routine about 10 times so far, and the explorer context menu item has been there every time except this last one, where I had to manually add it with regsvr32.
