Action to replace "[ ]" by "( )"

#1

Hi. Could any of you smart guys make me a action, if possible. I like a action to change these symbols "[ ]" to these "( )". Without the quotation marks though. Would that be hard to do. Thanks.

#2

What about using /t/967/1 ?

#3

Which one? I see so many.

Use the offered help right there where the link points to ...
"How do I replace the string "xyz" in tag-fields or filenames?"
Actions
... and follow the instructions.

Example ...

$replace('square brackets [to] round brackets','[','(',']',')')

... will give ...
'square brackets (to) round brackets'

Edit.
Example for the tag-field TITLE ...
Action: Format value
Field: TITLE
Formatstring: $replace(%TITLE%,'[','(',']',')')

Example for the pseudo tag-field _FILENAME ...
Action: Format value
Field: _FILENAME
Formatstring: $replace(%_FILENAME%,'[','(',']',')')

You can also use the action "Replace" to do so, but this will need two steps, collected in one group.

Begin Action Group Test_2011#20111116.Replace

Action #1
Actiontype 2: Replace
Field ______: TITLE
Original ___: [
Replace with: (

[_] Only as whole word [_] Case sensitive comparison

Action #2
Actiontype 2: Replace
Field ______: TITLE
Original ___: ]
Replace with: )

[_] Only as whole word [_] Case sensitive comparison

End Action Group Test_2011#20111116.Replace (2 Actions)

If you need to know how to create a new action, then see also ...

Sorry, but I don't understand that. I tried but I'm a novice. Could you make it for me. Thank you.

#6

I did it already for you in my recommendation in post#4 above where I've added examples, please read again.

In general the Mp3tag FAQ areas and forums tutorial posts can help over the first hurdle ... so try harder ... follow the examples ... do understand.

Hmm ... I could make it for you in total, if you are willing to pay the traveling expenses or if you pay the shipping costs to send your computer to me. I do not want to use any remote maintenance software, because I do not know your computer system.
