I’m fairly new to this program. I have a lot of files I’m trying to add cover art to. I’ve tried several filters to find files with no cover art but none of them seem to work. I added the cover column to my view but all the files show blank even when MP3Tag shows a cover. I’m sure it’s user error but any help would be appreciated.
I brought in the existing column titled Cover and if I remove the filter and sort by the column Cover, some that have cover art show a 1 and others that have cover art are blank.
Thanks for the screenshots, very helpful! It looks like those files are showing cover art from the folder, not from the metadata embedded in the files.
To prevent this, you'd need to enable the configuration option
Options → Tags → Don’t display first image from file directory as cover art
I did that and refreshed the view. It doesn’t seem to have helped. Here is my real issue that I had apparently blacked out of my head. My cover art is wrong on so many albums. I’m not sure how this happened. Is there any way to fix that besides going through one by one?
If the picture in the folder is the correct one, then you could import these more or less in 1 go with the action
use as
Format string: *.jpg
or
Format string: folder.jpg
Apply the filter
%_covers% MISSING
first.
If the external picture files or the already embedded pictures are not correct then there is no way that MP3tag could guess what the correct one would be and you would have to assign each individually.
