Using Mp3tag for Mac for re-titling MP4 files. Since downloading latest version (1.13.0), app is constantly freezing with spinning wheel of death and message 'Application is unresponsive'. No problems with previous version.
Could the conditions described in this thread be the cause?
What kind of MP4 files are you working with? Are those large video files? Are those stored on your local disk or and external/network drive?
External drive. I didn't seem to have any problems with the previous version.
Sorry, yes, quite large files (up to 2 or 3GB).
How long does it take to copy the file to your local drive and back again?
If the padding is too small for the new tag data, then the file has to be rewritten. And that may take a while.
If you have already tagged files and the changes in the tag data are only small ones, then the padding might be sufficient and the file can stay as it is and only the tag part gets updated.
Check if this is the case.
