I am ripping some LPs to my library. For several reasons I keep each files in BOTH MP3 and FLAC forms.
I have had no other issues with using MP3Tag to add cover art to flac files. It is often able to do this when other software can't.
However, with this set of files when I add cover art in MP3 Tag (no other thing done) it immediately corrupts the file. Like: file will play in MP3Tag, add cover art (&save) file won't play.
You can see in windows explorer as all of the metadata disappears the moment I save.
I have tried a compressed jpg - as another user said there was some kind of file size limit - does not help.
I used a free utility to check the files and they came back clean.
(I am lucky I was TESTING this, and kept backup copies - otherwise I would be extremely frustrated at the loss of the files.)
I have looked at a number of different threads - nothing I have tried seems to help. Please assist.
What if you reduce the cover art size?
Could you provide a song that plays fine and the same song after you have added a cover to it with Mp3tag?
And just to be sure:
Do you use the newest Mp3tag version (v3.24)?
Thank you for this reply. I had compressed the files, but NOT resized them. Yes, reducing the pixels fixed the issue. Thank you.
Thank you for the feedback.
To get some additional hint about the possible picture size and resolution:
What pixel resolution (and picture size) does work for you and your FLAC files?
