Can save cover graphic to wav file

Why does mp3tag let you save a cover graphic to a wav file? They don't show up anywhere, I wonder, is there any point in doing this? Just curious. (I'm using mp3tag to add tags to some wav files.)

Maybe this could be a reason:

Cover art saved to WAV isn't displayed in Groove

From wav you can convert to FLAC and stay lossless. Plus have the ability to tag and embed the album art. The mp3 format is lossy.

or

WAV Album Art doesn't appear in iTunes?

iTunes doesn't support reading cover art from WAV tags. I think you can add it from within iTunes, but then it's only part of iTunes' internal database. If you need a lossless codec to work along iTunes you could try ALAC or AIFF.

I think you are addressing the wrong forum or program.
Ask the same question in the player's support which is why the player does not support covers in wav files.
And: foobar2000 does show embedded covers of wav files.
