Discourse, the forum software used here, recently dropped support for older browser versions. The minimum supported versions are now:
- Firefox: v128 (July 2024 release)
- Chrome/Chromium: v119 (October 2023 release)
- iOS: 16.7
For users of Windows 7 and XP who are unable to update Chrome/Firefox, you may want to consider a third-party chromium fork such as Supermium or Thorium.
I'll leave aside the broader discussion about the security risks of running older Windows versions (let’s not derail into that). It's fairly obvious by now, but the reality is that many people still use these systems on otherwise perfectly functional machines.
