[F] DevBuild: Hebrew text in tag

bug-fixed

#1

v2.32 did not have this problem, it only started when I installed v2.32q :

Hebrew text in mp3 tags appears messed up in Mp3tag, and when I write hebrew tags again using mp3tag, they seem good on mp3tag, but come out messed up in Winamp.

Not sure why is that, maybe mp3tag uses different unicode or something, but it was okay on 2.32 so I'm sure you can fix it in no time.

Thanks for the help and keep up the good job.

Please post in the appropriate English forum.

In the meanwhile, have a look at this bug report.

Since v2.32p, Mp3tag expects ID3v2 tags to be Unicode or ISO-8859-1
Prior to this version, it used the encoding that was set in Windows language settings, so in your case a hebrew encoding. Winamp does the same and Winamp does not support Unicode!

So you must decide, do you want your tags in Unicode or in your local encoding.
If you want them in Unicode, you must take a new player that can handle Unicode, like foobar2000 and also convert you old tags to unicode (possible with foobar and now with mp3tag, too).

If not, stick to the latest non unicode Mp3tag version and maybe wait if a futur version adds an option for system codepage again (although it might never happen)

Note: I have just read on the Winamp forums that Unicode support is now planned for a future release
