Continuing the discussions from Need help, to choose/add multiple values from the tag panel drop-down:
I think this would be extremely useful for tags like STYLE, MOOD, GENRE I think a way to implement this that does not interfere with the current behavior of the other fields in MP3TAG could be a new field type which behaves different from the others. In addition to:
Text
Check
Multiline
I propose a "List" field type (I feel "multi value" fits better but may be confusing in the grand scheme)
My current workflow for tagging MOOD for example is
- The Entry fields are filled with one value each
- An action group places the values of the entry fields into the field directly below without duplicating any values that may already exist.
- The entry fields are removed & the values in "Moods [H]" are formatted for the official MOOD tag that is seen by my player.
MOODS is a field where I keep the values in a vertical list as it is easier to see multiple values in my tag panel that way. I prefer to see
Sad
Gloomy
Depressed
rather than
Sad,Gloomy,Depressed
In a normal scenario my tag panel does not show that last MOOD field, just the two entry fields & the vertical list of MOODS.
With this method I cycle two at a time, new mood tags to add to the MOOD of a track. I'd love to open the list & just select all that apply & be done, this would hasten my workflow & remove my need for "Entry Fields"
My method is obviously not the best method for this but this has been the fastest way I've found to tag tracks where multiple values are always applied.
