Can I use Mp3tag for Mac under macOS High Sierra or older?

Mp3tag for Mac requires macOS 10.14.6 Mojave or later.

Every macOS version supported also needs testing and I’ve noticed, that Mp3tag on 10.13 has more issues and non-existent APIs that need extra workarounds.

Since it’s an all-new app, I was trying to not have the burden of maintaining many older versions of macOS on my development shoulders. At the time of decision making, I was also still running Mojave, so I knew it’s going to work flawlessly there.

The fact that macOS High Sierra doesn't receive any security updates and other updates anymore, also did not help in motivating me further to invest all this extra effort.

Can I import data from Windows?

Importing .mta action groups is available since Mp3tag for Mac v1.4.4. Other settings can't be imported at the moment and it's unlikely to be implemented.

Downloading from the Mac App Store doesn't work. What to do?

If downloads from the Mac App Store are stalled and do not continue, the following steps might turn things back to normal:

  1. Open the App Store app
  2. Open Activity Monitor
  3. Look for appstoreagent in Activity Monitor and force-quit the process.

Now the download should proceed.

I can't find my license code / registration data. What can I do?

Mp3tag can be purchased either on the Mac App Store or directly via my website. There is no license code if you bought it via the Mac App Store, because the Mac App Store handles all licensing transparently. I don't have access to the purchasing data there, but you can check by yourself:

To check if you purchased Mp3tag via the Mac App Store make sure you're logged in at the Mac App Store app with your Apple account. You're logged in, if the icon on the lower left shows you name. If it doesn't show your name, you'd need to login via ⌘0 where you can also see all of your purchased apps and can download Mp3tag via the respective icon.

To check if you purchased Mp3tag via my website you can search for an email Your Mp3tag for Mac License Information in your email archive. If you don't find anything there or if you don't archive your emails, please contact me via email.
