I apologize for my lack of knowledge but I am quite new to this. The issue I am facing is it appears that this mp3 player defaults to displaying the file name as opposed to using the tags for displaying the current track. Firstly if anyone has any knowledge of AGPtek mp3 players how can I make it display info based off of tags as opposed to file name. Secondly if that is not possible could someone explain how to set up a naming convention for the files themselves that wont totally destroy my collection. I apologize for my lack of understanding I just am overwhelmed.
Thank you for responding. I will include three screenshots of the way I have the music sorted. I have a mixture of FLAC and mp3 although it is mostly mp3. I apologize but the screenshots are off a 3 monitor set up and I don't know how to isolate a screen. You will probably need to open the image and zoom. This will show how I have all the files organized on my computer within album folders. Following this should I show you what is shown when loading the full library into mp3tag itself?
I'm sorry, I do not intend to be difficult. I will get out of your hair. I will figure out what I need to do without taking up your time. My only question is in the above post where you mentioned looking at a user manual. Which manual were you referring to? The manual for the A19X itself?
Ah yes that is for a predecessor model named the A02. I have the A19X. Never the less that manual seems much more descriptive than the one I was provided with my purchase. My manual has no mention of sorting files or the like. The players seem to run off the same OS though. I do not understand German but can piece together what the manual is saying.
Thank You. I think my collection was just more out of order than I thought. The player seems to display the filename instead of the tagged title. I will use the tag to filename converter in mp3tag and make it look something like %track%-%title%-%artist% that way if the player is using the filename to display I can at least get some info on the track playing.
Check if you have more than just 1 tag version in the files. E.g. APE tags sometimes cause hicups if they contain just parts an exclusive subset of the data that can be found in the ID3 tags.
See, in MP3tag if files that do not show the TITLE in the player have APE tags.
And if that is not the case, then a check for integrity of these files would be a good option.
