Beginner question I'm afraid but "original year" field does not seem editable manually
I could not find documentation about this (possibly I did not search well enough but I did not find many results that seemed to apply).
Every other field opens an input prompt but not this one.
Could you please help me have access to this field ?
You try to edit it in Mp3tag (or Windows File Explorer or somewhere else)?
Please show us your tags with a screenshot from Alt+T pressed on a track where you like to edit the "original year" content.
As I usually do not get an input prompt to edit a field: how do you do that?
I'm in Mp3tag v3.21
Actually it seems to take a value as an input but it does not show in the table.
When I use "year" for instance, I can modify both the table or the field on the left
When I use "original year", the column seems "locked". I can edit the value (that seems to offer two actions that I'm not sure to understand at the moment). Shoud I enter something, it seems to be saved but does not show in the column, but is still displayed in the left panel.
Please right-click on the column "Année d'origine" then -> Customize Columns -> and show us the definition of your column.
It should use the same FIELD name as in the definition in your Tag panel (at the left side where it shows 1980 actually).
-> Right click -> Customize -> Tag Panel -> double click "Année d'origine"

BTW it should be the default configuration, I believe I did not change anything there
Exactly.
You can see the content 1980 in your Tag Panel at the left side in your previous screenshot above.
So the FIELD name ("Champ" in your case) ORIGYEAR is the needed one.
Just overwrite your %originalyear% with %ORIGYEAR% in "Valeur" AND "Champ" for your column. Then you should be able to modify the ORIGYEAR tag in your column too.

I meant I can have the cursor in the column field (I don't need to go to the left panel)
Still a "minor" issue though, I still cannot edit directly in the table. I have to use the left panel.
Make sure that you have filled both "Value" and "Field" for the column definition with %origyear%. If you leave out "field" then the column becomes read-only.
