Moderator intervention: This part of the questions from @Sexycowboy32 has been moved from here:
When importing tags from the discogs release ID, I find it somewhat lacking in many fields. Again, this might be me not understanding how to set up the tags properly in the first place.
However, when importing tags the values in TRACK is A1, A2, B1, B2, etc, and the DISCNUMBER tag is empty.
I would prefer that it wrote the A and B side values in DISCNUMBER, if it even takes letters as values. If it doesn't I would like to write them to a separate tag. The TRACK should only be the track number, differentiated by the disc number (or side).
Also, I would like to add "Style" from discogs to a separate user tag.
Is there any way to map values from the Discogs api to internal tags in mp3tag?
There is a lot more values from discogs, that I would like written to tags (such as notes to COMMENTS), but these initial mappings would do for now.
I hope someone can help a beginner out!
If you import tag content with a so called Web Source Script like the one for Discogs, it highly depends on the developer of the script what you get. Most WSS developers list in the description which tags exactly you will get.
If you would like to see additional tags you can ask the developer if he/she can modify the script for you or show you where you can modify it yourself.
Or maybe you can find another version of the script that already delivers such tags.
It helps a lot if you provide real existing examples of such albums on discogs (or any other source). Please show where exactly you find the missing information, like your "Style".
What you can do AFTER the import of tag content with WSS:
You can use Actions or the menu Convert: Tag->Tag to modify the existing content.
For example, if you want to write A or B into your tag DISCNUMBER
That may be true for your tracks in your collection.
Other users can define this with another format.
Please use the mentioned Actions or Convert to adjust the values as YOU like it for your collection.
