How to show TAG3 / Riff

Hello,
I am an absolute beginner and faced the following problem on my Mac:

To have the information of certain music files to have been shown correct on my BluSound- Player I needed to re-tag the files. Unfortunately this did not show the result expected.
Therefore I downloaded another editor and faced out that there is a a TAG3 field which included the information which was the cause for me problem.
Now my question - how to I find such hidden Tags. All the research so far did solve my question.

Thanks, TFK

What kind of files are these? "Riff" sounds like wav files.

Thats‘s correct. I am converting into wav

The question would be: does the finder support tags in wav files.
Here is a thread about the principle problem:

So: what data do the files show in MP3tag? Is that OK?
A look with the extended tags dialogue is useful in many cases.

That’s not the problem. I found in the tag a name of an artist (not shown in mp3tag) which my blusound player used for referencing and sorting the artist name. After deleting this field in the other software it‘s ok now.
Even a look into the extended tags did not show the field which was causing the problem.

Do you still have one of the files, with a

If so, I could have a look and maybe answer your question.

Thank you for the example file and the extra information. WAV files can have two tag formats and Mp3tag supports both ID3v2 and RIFF INFO tags. It prioritizes display of ID3v2 tags (it's the more capable tag format) but writes, e.g., album and artist information also to a RIFF INFO tag.

So whenever you face one of the mentioned issues again, you can try changing the information in Mp3tag and it should affect both tag versions. BlueSound might need to be triggered to rescan or reindex the files to make the change visible.

Regarding identifying such files: you can use the Filter with %_tag% HAS RIFF to list all files with such tags.

Florian,

Vielen Dank, Thomas

If you encounter such a file again, please send it to me before you remove the field. This is the only way I can implement support for this field from RIFF INFO tags in Mp3tag and, thus, make it changeable by the user.

Florian,

just found another file with the same problem. Can you resend the upload link?

Thanks, TFK
