Hello -- is it advised to uninstall the 32 bit version before installing the 64 bit vesion?
It is recommended. See the original post here regarding moving from 32 to 64-bit.
I've released a 64-bit version of Mp3tag a few days ago and received a few questions about differences between the 32-bit version and the 64-bit version.
To make it short, there should not be any noticeable differences except for two things:

thanks for the info ---- what impact might I have without TAK support?
TAK support with 64-bit has already been added. But if you don’t use TAK files, it is irrelevant. I’ve updated the link above to show the newer details.
