I just installed the downloaded version with the portable installation on an external USB drive - and it took less than a minute.

The d:\ drive is an HDD (c:\ is an SSD). I use the virus and threat protection built into Windows. My computer runs Windows 10 (incompatible with Windows 11). I can't find anywhere to specify Mp3tag as a trusted program.

It looks to me like you mixed installations of 2 versions without de-installation of the previous version first. If you do an update installation, you have to stay in the previous folder, I think. If you want a new installation destination, you should remove the old installation first.
