Hi DSperber,

Worked very well!
Thank you very much.

NOTE: my Windows-format database is still from June 1, 2020, and getting staler and staler as each day goes by. The "right thing" to do now is to convert your workflow (whatever it is) to make use of GNUDB.ORG, which is the new ongoing actively maintained up-to-date open online realtime replacement for FreeDB that reflects all new CDs published since June 2020.
That's still my recommendation, to revise your own procedures to use the latest versions of any 3rd-party products which have by now long since been modified to utilize GNUDB.ORG instead of FreeDB, e.g. EAC, Audiograbber, etc.
Hi,
I got the the FreeDB-win-20200601-lowercase.zip and it passed WinRAR's test command. Is there a site somewhere with a tutorial on how to set it up with EAC?
Regards
I actually don't use EAC. I am an Audiograbber user. But both of these (latest EAC version 1.6, and latest Audiograbber version 1.83, 2020 Edition) are pre-configured to utilize GNUDB.ORG which is the total new, current, ongoing replacement for the old FreeDB.
Whereas Audiograbber still contains the ability to also utilize the local FreeDB database (i.e. the Windows format July 1, 2020 final database that you have now downloaded from my URL), I don't think EAC supports it. Or if it does I can't find how. In fact EAC provides support for other metadata providers as well, while Audiograbber is simply GNUDB and/or local database.
But no matter. There is no reason to use the local FreeDB database any longer, now that GNUDB exists as a free and open replacement for FreeDB. If you want more sophisticated metadata with EAC you can opt for the other metadata providers (I don't think they're free, though).
Just use the latest version 1.6 of EAC, and it automatically is set up for GNUDB as the built-in free metadata provider.
Hi DSperber,
could you please send me too the download URL?
I'd like to use a local copy of the windows-Freedb with an old freeware called Freedb Easy Navigator, that can save the tracklist in .CUE format. It's useful to split some single-track old albums I dowloaded from youtube.
Thanks in advance

file downloaded and successfully used. I also discovered a MusicBrainz Picard plugin to directly create the .cue files from tracklist. Thank you so much for your quick reply and for the support!

I would have definitely signed up; have so many old CD's that I now recode on a Win7 32bit machine with EAC and that is a very big help, thank you very much!
I had all this years ago but deleted due to lack of space and money.... Everything is running fine! Thanks again!
Best regards from Berlin
