Does the mac version support mkv tagging? I'm unable to open an mkv in the beta version I installed last week.
The freshly release version 1.0 of Mp3tag for Mac doesn’t support MKV.
It’s a very complex format and brings with it also the need to support chapters in a reasonable way. At the moment, I’m not 100% happy with how the Windows version is handling chapters and would like to improve the situation when tackling this for the Mac version.
It’s on my list for a future release.

I just tried to edit mkv metadata on mcos and it didnt work, windows version works jsut fine
I've just released Mp3tag for Mac v1.9 with support to view and edit metadata of Matroska audio (MKA), Matroska video (MKV), and WebM files. Support for chapters in Matroska is on my internal wish list.
