Mp3tag for Mac v1.11 released
I’ve just released Mp3tag for Mac v1.11 and would like to take the opportunity to outline some of the new features and improvements:
Cover-only search via Tag Sources
The new version adds support for cover-only search via Tag Sources. It's now possible to exclusively search for album artwork by using the existing Tag Sources like MusicBrainz or Discogs (or any of the custom Tag Sources you might be using). It's a good option for situations where you just want to update the artwork without changing any other metadata (and without unchecking the various tag fields).
Advanced Configuration Options
I've also added a new Advanced configuration page that currently holds specialised options for tag internals. I'm usually not a big fan of obscure configuration settings, but the reality is that some particular setups need this level of extra configuration to make everything run smoothly. For example, Use single MP4 atom for multiple values is required for, e.g., Navidrome to read multi-valued tags correctly.
Bugfixes and Internal Changes
In addition, I've fixed a couple of issues and introduced quality-of-life changes, which are all listed in the Mp3tag for Mac changelog. If something is unclear or sparks your interest, please don’t hesitate to ask.
And yes, it's a free update! You can update the Mac App Store version via the Updates tab in the App Store app. If you bought the standalone version from my website, update from within the app via File → Check for Updates.
If you’re not yet using Mp3tag for Mac, you can try the 7-day trial version—only the days you actually use the app are counted.
Thank you for reading, your interest, and your support.
Enjoy and take care
