Mp3tag v2.46 released

I've just released Mp3tag v2.46!

Highlights of the new version include:

Explorer Shell Extension
The right-click menu extension is now realised by a dedicated Shell extension which improves opening files and directories via the context menu also for large amounts of files.

Improved user-defined field mappings
The user-defined mappings for field names introduced in Mp3tag v2.45 now have an own help page and were further improved with regard to mapping multiple field names to one user-defined field name.

Improved Tag Sources dialog
The Tag Sources dialog now also supports reordering of files via drag and drop allowing to quickly rearrange files according to the titles. Yes, we made it work with multiple files too  The sorting and selection state of the Tag Sources search results are now also remembered if you decide to go back and pick another result.

Portable settings
Previous versions of Mp3tag stored toolbar and panel positions in the Windows Registry. This changed with this release so that Mp3tag now stores all configuration data in its own configuration files.

As usual, there is more to discover in the Changelog.

You can download the new version from

Thanks to all who tested the Development Builds and gave feedback on the forums!

Enjoy

Kind regards,
Florian

Thanks for this release Florian! I really like the new shell extension which I've been using during the last couple of BETA releases due to updater bug. The BETAs were really stable though, I didn't really have any issue.

I cannot install Mp3tag v2.46d under Ubuntu 10.04 and Wine 1.2!

I got the message: Operating system not supported (Only Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows Vista, Windows 2008, and Windows 7 are supported)

I never had such a message and Mp3tag v2.46b is working fine.

Is there a possibility that the check for the operating system also works for Wine ?

Did you try this with Winecfg?

Thanks for the link.
I have added mp3tagv246dsetup.exe to the applications and then I could install without any problems.
A little bit strange but my problem is solved.

Oke nice that it worked, but I still think you should still post the same question
in the Bug Report Sub Forum.

Update: 4/11/2010, 11:53

I just did a Mp3tag 2.46d install on Ubuntu 9.04 with Wine 1.2 and I didn't get any
Error message.

I have lost the option to drag & drop folders into the MP3tag or am I missing something...

EDIT - have it now after reboot, cheers

I've noticed this behaviour, too. Not only with this version.
After every update to a newer version, drag & drop is disabled. However, after restart of Mp3Tag, it works again.

The installer requests admin rights and when it starts Mp3tag at the end of the installation then Mp3tag also gets admin rights.
So drag&drop with the explorer doesn't work anymore. Close Mp3tag and start it again and it should be fine.
