Mp3tag VIA BSI Info Editor (BSI Simian)

Could you supply one of these files?
Or: have you checked the files to be OK?

If you open such a mp3 in a Hex-Editor, can you find a TXXX tag with a text like "BSI-Account Executive" (written from Mp3tag)?

I ask specifically for tags that BSI don't show anymore in your environment.
Does this content really no more exists in your mp3 or does BSI just don't show it anymore?

I would say: No.

Hello Lyrics Lover, very interesting your question: I took the sound file, with Notepad ++, I see that the tags which are well written ...
But BSI Info Editor (BSI Simian) does not display it?

If you like, you can share such a file with @ohrenkino and me and then we can test it.
(The mp3 itself and how it behaves in our environments.)

Yes it's great... Ohrenkino & LyricsLover, I could provide you with a TEST file which gives me the same problem...

and you can do some tests, I will also send you my Mp3tag configuration file...

I'm new, I don't know how to send files to USERS?

You could post a link to a file hoster where you delete the file after the tests have been undertaken.
Or you send a PM (personal message) with the link or the file.

Just to be sure:
Your file
S0004-(File for Test) I've been everywhere-Album American II Unchained (1996)..mp3
does NOT show all tags in BSI (but in Mp3tag)?

MP3diags shows this:

Also, thee orginal file has a field
COMMENT ID3V1 COMMENT
as soon as I deleted that comment, the whole comment is visible in the BSI Info Editor.
I have not yet succeeded to get BPM back again.
But otherwise, all the changes I make, be it in the BSI Editor or in MP3tag are reflected in the other program.
It would still make me a little suspicious that the editor adds so many comments each time something is saved.

It's 2 files are the same, 1 file in backup, 1 file for testing, the 2 files are the same and display all the tags...

In the BSI Info Editor (Simian) in the Tag Category, write: PUB, because each computer that retains the memory of the tag only for Category...

If I understood correctly from the tests you do ohrenkino, you say that most of the tags you write in Mp3tag are written in BSI Info Editor (Simian)...

Yes. I see a lot of the changes, ....
Ah! Found it: The BSI-Editor adds BPM as TXXX BPM (which is a user-defined field) but MP3tag transforms it to the standard field TBPM which apparently the BSI-Editor cannot read.
TRACKNUM is another one - MP3tag writes TRACK (or TRCK), the editor expects for inexplicable reasons a user-defined field for TRACK.
Other fields like that:
PRODUCER
PUBLISHER

In short: the BSI-Editor from 2003 features a very individual but non-standard interpretation of the ID3 standard.
I would look for an updated version of such a program.

ohrenkino, I believe there is no update for this program...

I cannot help you any further.
I doubt that there will ever be an option in MP3tag to set to write only user-defined fields, even those for which there is a representation in the standard.
The reason for your problem is that the BSI editor does not comply with the MP3 standard.

Thanks ohrenkino for trying...

@Sergius: I'm just curious
Why you don't write all this tags with a current version of Mp3tag?
Or at least the ones, you really need in your files?

Who - or what software - is the target for this information?

LyricsLover, I can't use the normal version of Mp3tag, because all the tags, don't appear...

I work in a radio station, it can happen that I need one day to another one of the tags I have programmed...

I find it great to put the images in Mp3tag, because it's easy and I can get the image out of Mp3tag, which is programmed automatically on the "Artist-album" hard disk to make the image appear in my program of Radio automation BSI SIMIAN...

I waste time in the BSI Info Editor changing tabs (6 in total)

I find with Mp3tag, all the tags follow each other, it will go faster tagged the info this way...

In general Mp3tag is great, because we can write the name of the tags we have in our tag programs...

You can add whatever tag you need to your Mp3tag Tag Panel.

Example:
If you need a tag called "Account Executive / Sales Person" on the left side in the Tag Panel of Mp3tag, you press ALT + T on one of your previously with BSI filled mp3. Then you see something like this:

The tag you need to add for this example is called "ACCOUNT EXEC".

In the Tag Panel you can right click on an empty space and click "Customize".
Then you click on the Icon with the yellow star to add a new field (#1).
In "Field:" enter the name you got from ALT + T #2: ACCOUNT EXEC

You can choose a description (#3) in "Name:" and the size of this field (#4)
Then press OK.

You can move the position of every field with the "arrow up" and "arrow down"-Buttons.

The result in the Tag Panel would look like this:

If you like, you can also add columns for your tags to manage the content in the File List.

Unless your radio software needs this strange implementation of the BSI editor, you can emulate its functions in respect to tagging in MP3tag but in a standard compliant format.

Hello Lyrics Lover, I have already programmed this "ACCOUNT EXEC" tag.
"Account Executive / Sales Person"

It is part of the list of TAGS that Mp3tag deletes when saving VIA BSI Info Editor (Simian)...

I just read the test file again changed the field ACCOUNT EXEC from
Simian Account Executive / Sales Person
to
Simian Account Executive / Personal
and both editors show this change.

The BSI editor does not change all fields, esp. those that are user-defined fields like this ACCOUNT EXEC will remain compatible between both applications as they are user-defined fields.
The problem arises for fields for which there is an equivalent in the ID3 standard but which are written as user-defined fields by the BSI editor.
This applies to the COMMENT, TRACK, PUBLISHER and PRODUCER - at elast these are the fields that I found to be written like that. There could be more.

Hello ohrenkino and LyricsLover, thank you for your help, you are great...

Currently I am trying several tag programs...

I found an open source program, I am very surprised, it saves all tags in BSI Info Editor (Simian), KId3

This program is open source, there is someone who found a method to program the tags in BSI Info Editor (Simian) in full ...

It is very complex to work with... I prefer the Mp3tag program...

It only places the tags that the program finds... The other TAGs must be programmed... The programming is very complex...

We cannot name the tags: example "Account Exec", this is the normal code that appears,
TCOM is the name that appears (for Composer) it's not easy to work with this program...

In the main page, there are 3 columns of TAG?

The main TAG column to work with is named: Tag 2 ID3v2.3.0

You cannot from this column move the position of each TAG with the "up arrow" and "down arrow" buttons, I find that a pity...

But there is someone who found a way to be able to program the complete BSI Info Editor (Simian)

The program is Open Source, are you able to know how they did it, I don't have the knowledge...

That would be great, changes could be made in a future Mp3tag update
