Hi everyone,
I am VERY new to all of this and could really do with some help!
I have filenames like this: (10cc - Donna.mp3) All I want to do is remove the 10cc bit in the filename, so that it finishes up like: Donna.mp3. I am really stuck, and going around in circles...please help if you have time! Quite a number of tracks so it would help such a lot to do them on mass!
No mate - I managed to do the above but now, need to remove the artist from the filename - sorry to confuse you ohrenkino - at the moment I have it like this:
Filename Title Artist
10cc - Donna.mp3 Donna 10cc
What I really want is:
Filename Title Artist
Donna.mp3 Donna 10cc
Hope this helps - Thank You so much for your help - really appreciated!
Do you already have the correct tag field information in these files? If so, you can simply use the Converter Tag>Filename and use fields like %title% to fill in how you want them to look.
Tried but no good - Used Filename/Tag with %title% as the string but it simply duplicates the Filename (10cc - Donna) into the Title field. All I want to do is remove the 10cc from the filename completely to leave Donna.mp3 as the filename.
You probably want to try the convert Tag>Filename since you already have the tag, and want to change the filename. Using Filename>Tag grabs the text from the current filename and puts that into the tag fields.
I would assume that if you have just "Donna" in TITLE that the Converter>Tag-Filename will write only "Donna" as filename if you use
Format string: %title%
So please read carefully and do not mix Converter>Tag-Filename and Converter>Filename-Tag.
Just wanted to say a MASSIVE Thank You to everyone - Success!
It's a cracking little program, it's just getting used to the ins and outs of it - very Well Done everybody!
