Hi,
I have a dance group so we use he sme songs/dances but in different orders.
We have a show this weekend and I am trying to re-order the songs and transfer to a USB to check the running order, and these are always coming out incorrectly.
I have formatted the USB. Saved the # track order. tried removing the artist, changing the year, but this is still coming out the same.
Load the files into MP3tag.
Drag them in the file list to the desired position while pressing the Alt key.
When done, open the menu File and see and use the functions for the playlists.
Another question would be: does your player understand playlists?
I use an AEG 4360 Boombox, so not sure how it identifies the tracks. Trying to understand why the tracks won't play in order. or if there is another way to do this?
I will have to give the music to someone else for him to play anyway. Its just easier with a USB.
Actually, I doubt that this will bring you any closer.
If you modify the filename and the order is OK, then your player takes the filename to sort.
If you delete all tags, then there is nothing to sort on by the player so it would probably use the filename. If that is also ignored, then it could be that the player uses the order of files in the file system and takes the first copied file as first and last as last, depending on its position in the FAT.
So unless you have some more knowledge about the features of your player, all further attempts can only be done locally and by trial and error.
Unfortunately, the online available owner manual doesn't say anything about the sort order.
(It includes only some hints that ID3 metadata should be read - if enabled by pressing the button #8)
Are you sure that you don't have activated/pressed some "random sort order" button?
Just found this section:
PROG/P-MODE (22)
• In stop mode for programming any order of tracks (see the section on “Programmed Play”).
During the playback of an audio CD:
Press once = the current track is repeated continuously.
Press twice = the whole CD is played continuously.
The symbol “ ALL“ appears on the
display.
Press three times = All the music tracks are played back in random order.
The notification “RAN” appears on the display.
I'm not sure if this is also valid for playing music from USB Stick.
If you think that the player should treat the files according to the tag data, then please show us what the files look like in MP3tag. If the number of filled tag fields is the same for all, then a screenshot of the extended tags dialogue Alt-T for a single file would be nice
Yes, did this. Have deleted all Tags on Mp3Tag. Now when i play the USB and press the ID3 button it comes up with 'No ID3' so I think I have removed the tag the player uses?
How can I send an image please?
Apologies, this was out of context, earlier in the conversation I asked if deleting the tags and creting new ones would resolve the play order. I can still load the previous file with the extended tags.
The program wasn't allowing me to take a screenshot, I assume I can paste in the body of the email.
