@a7x_planets Have you tried using\adding other Web Source Scripts for iTunes \ Apple Music to your tagging workflow, or are you just using @AreDigg's WSS?
Not to self-promote, but for your specific request, on the script I released, I'm getting these results:
I’ve been only using the iTunes and Apple Music scrips. But iTunes gives more tagging that I never knew could happen (and has saved me time). When I used the Apple Music script, something’s are missing, like copyright and years are broken, like I sent on the picture of RATATATA single.
I started to use my dad’s old PC, which isn’t the best, with the same scrips I used on my MacBook and Apple Music script that I used for THE OTHER ONE got more tags than ever before, so I’ll take it.
I have used other sources, I just find this script with Apple Music and iTunes the best I’ve used. I used to use this preset services before I found out about this beautiful script.
I’ve used all the other sources, I guess when I see all the tags that Discogs or MusicBrainz gave was too much and didn’t really like, so I went digging for more sources and found this script that helps me add the explicit tag and all that in one click. But I’ll have to test around with more tagging services. I just really like the iTunes script (with how many times I’ve said it, I should marry it haha)
I'm figuring it out. I'm back on Windows again, as I said above I'm using my dad's old PC and it works well for the time being. I'll just have to use multiple sources on top of my favorite. I just wish the iTunes API found the BABYMETAL albums I'm working on. Oh well, there's others out there I can use!
After investigating a bit more, you should find all BABYMETAL albums on the japanese iTunes store, including The Other One, so try that as i am reluctant to change the script for this specfic case. Although I may include it as an option.
Apple Music should have more metadata than the iTunes version, but this reminds me that I have forgot to add the conversion of the date in the YEAR tag to same as iTunes uses. I was not aware that the Apple Music app does not seem to like that format as I am not using it for local audio files anymore.
While I do understand your enthusiasm after learning of the possibilities of tag editing, please understand that Mp3Tag is a "powerful and easy-to-use tool to edit metadata of audio files".
It is a feature-rich program, and one that takes practice and time to fully understand its capabilities and make the best use of them for each user's tagging preferences.
I'll ask that you take the time to familiarize yourself with them before tackling more complex subjects like Web Source operations. I've been using (and making scripts) for over 5 years and still feel I have much to learn.
Going back to your original question, the script's developer is aware of the issue in this topic, and is providing support.
I respectfully ask for your patience in this matter.
Good things take time.
That's what I thought, but iTunes has the COPYRIGHT, and it shows the year on the mobile app of Apple Music. Apple Music Web API doesn't show that much. I've been using both recently and I'm going to continue using both.
I've even used the iTunes API for Japan and I can't remember if I found it or not, I do apologize as I just woke up and can't remember which API I use between the 2.
And for me being new, I can't fully say that as I've been using MP3Tag for around the same amount you have, which the more I think about it, it's wild.
I think what's confusing me a lot more is that when my dad got sick with cancer, I had to quit for a bit with editing, so coming back I needed to try newer things.
Also, I would've figured that the Japanese site would have more as they are after all a Japanese band. As I said, I can't remember which side of it all that I found them on. I've been using the Apple Music website and copy and pasting the links.
To reply to my own self here. I just got on my PC to look up BABYMETAL on both the US iTunes and Apple Music APIs and the album is now showing up, as before it didn't. I'm happy it is now! Not to mention, METAL GALAXY is showing as well, when that one didn't before. I'll take it!
Do you have other tracks that do show the year? If yes, compare the two in mp3tag and find which other tag field may need to be updated. Besides the 4-digit YEAR field, iTunes also includes more detail in the COPYRIGHT field. This will also depend on the filetype where Apple has a preference for m4a.
