[Suggestion] The installer should add the classic Windows context menu as well

Suggestion: The installer should add the classic Windows 11/10 context menu as well.

In details:
Support for the new Windows 11 context menu was added in v3.11 (2021-10-29). From this version and on, only the new Windows 11 context menu is created during installation.
Until then (up to v3.10) the installer created the classic context menu instead.

So, my suggestion is that the installer should also create the classic Windows 11/10 context menu.

Yes, I am aware of the comment in Classic context menu with Total Commander in Windows 11 - #2 by Florian, that is to manually run from a command prompt with admin rights:

cd <path to Mp3tag installation>
regsvr32 Mp3tagShell.dll

which indeed creates the classic context menu for me. So, what I am suggesting is the installer to execute the above commands, so that the classic context menu is also created during installation.

Comparison of the context menus: new (3.24 or 3.11) vs old(missing) (3.10)

Thank you

I'm surprised no one has responded to this. I also can no longer open groups of files using the windows right context menu. There used to be an "MP3tag" option but it has not been there for several months now.

This context menu has MP3tag as entry.
What kind of installation have you chosen? See Help>About MP3tag. Portable installations do not have a context menu entry.
For all other installations:
see the top post.

did the trick. I missed the entry for Mp3tag with right mouse click in TC, too.
