The Mp3 Tag won't save any changes

Yesterday, I added Title, Artist and Cover Art changes to about 10 songs.

I saved them two different ways. Thru the Floppy Icon and thru the File pulldown menus.

When I went in today, all I get is a blank screen. So, I did it again. Same result.

What step am I missing?

Thx

Could you please check if you have APE-Tags in your files and also check if you read them?
If you read them, then please switch that option off and see if the data comes back again

Where do you get a blank screen?
In Mp3tag View -> Extended Tags?
Or in Windows File Explorer?
Or in any other 3rd party player software?

A screenshot would help in such cases.

Thx, but I have no idea what an APEtag is. I am just trying to add an album image to an mp3 file.

Please show us the screenshot of a single file's extended tags dialogue Alt-T

Edit: it's not necessary any more as the screenshot already shows the required information.

You have to select the file(s) in the file list to add a cover via the tag panel.

I can’t find In Mp3tag View -> Extended Tags. I don’t see it on that screenshot I sent.

Extended tags is there but disabled if you haven't selected a file in the file list.

I went into the menu and found this.

Looks to me like the data is there.
Is there still a problem?

I now see this, as I did yesterday.

But, when I close MP3Tag and come back in, the screen is blank for that song.

I don’t get it. What’s going on?

The tag panel is empty if there is not at least 1 selected file. Loaded files are not enough, you have to select it/them.
You can set in the options Ctrl-O to select all files automatically when opening MP3tag:

Aha…my old MP3 tagger went right to the tag info. Sadly, it quit functioning and the complany no longer sells it.

I will have to remember to click on the file name in the mP3 tag editor.

Thx for all of your help.

Please note that MP3tag also works on several (selected) files in one go. You can edit e.g. all files of an album at once and set the ALBUMARTIST and YEAR and ALBUM once and save that data to all files without repeated entries.

Thx. Good to know. You’ve been very helpful
