Windows explorer Date field does not work after TAG copy/paste

Hi, I got crazy trying to understand why, on some tagged mkv file, the Date field showed in windows explorer, details view, was EMPTY!

I get finally the cause. If I make "tag copy" for a selected file (i.e. file 1) and I do "paste tag" on a file (i.e. file 2) and save, for such final file (file 2) the date field in windows explorer is NO MORE visible.

Do you know the reason?How can I avoid such issue?

I'm using MP3Tag v3.35.1 on Windows 10

Could you please show us a screenshot of an example where the date field is missing in Windows Explorer?

And please also show us screenshots from Alt + T (View -> Extended Tags) from Mp3tag from the same (mkv) file, one BEFORE and one AFTER your copy & paste.

Are you talking about a tagfield with the name DATE or the dates of the file-system?
What kind of file is the source?

In addition to the questions posed to you above, consider this from Google AI:

The default "Date" column in Windows File Explorer dynamically changes its source depending on the file type, pulling internal metadata like "Date Taken" for photos or system timestamps for some other files.

Perhaps recording dates for your MKV files are not supported by Explorer.

Hi all, thanks for your replies.

I tried to replicate the issue with anopther MKV file but I was not able to.. and I do not remember anymore what are the files that had the issue.

The not showed date was the field called "Date" in Windows explorer. The fields date created, date modified, where correctly showed.
