is it possible to work with a specific cover via actions, if the song files have more than one cover? Additionally, the cover types are the same.
Example: I have a playlist where every songfile has two cover arts. One for the song and one for the playlist. Unfortunately both cover arts are of the same type (front cover). Can I address a specific cover art via number to delete, replace or change type for example the second cover?
The covers where added with mp3tag and the songfiles are m4a (aac or alac).
Please see this thread on which cover types can be set for mp4 files:
There is no way address a specific embedded image. It cannot be determined what the contents is of the first or the second picture.
You would have to export them, see what they look like and then import them again with the required type.
Thank you.
In the tag panel and the extended tags view, I can select a specific cover art, for example the 2/3. In all files, I want to delete the second of three. So it has to be possible somehow to address this one by number, or am I missing something?
As is often the case, there are workarounds to accomplish a project, although sometimes they are cumbersome. You have to decide for yourself whether the effort is worth it for you rather than manually editing.
You can export and import cover art in Mp3tag using actions.
So mark your files and select the action type "Export cover to file"
This will save all 3 covers of the files to their directory, because you activated "Export duplicate files". For the duplicates there will be the numbers (1) and (2) added to the filename, which is taken from the corresponding music-file with the suffix of the picture-type.
Because you have activated "Delete existing cover art" the existing embedded cover files will be replaced by the import-file, which was the original first cover.
Thank you so much.
I missed the option of putting each file (over 900) in its seperate directory to handle the different covers. This works fine for me!
NEW: added function Manage covers... to cover menu, which allows for adding, removing, replacing, adjusting, and reordering of embedded cover art in one or multiple files.
This new feature makes it much more comfortable!
Thank you Florian.
