[WS] Apple Music

This script is very useful. I use it to organize songs and albums, but it doesn't make any money. I'm sorry that it doesn't work now. Thanks to the author for your efforts. Looking forward to it coming back one day. Thanks again.

sucks. apple has ISRC & original date release tracks and composers and.... many more

I’m honestly surprised it has taken Apple this long to clamp down on this access to their data. Regardless, since it currently not an option wor this script, then you will need to find alternatives. And if those don’t work for you, this was one tried and true way to get exactly what you want -

Shame, there's no way to get the script to work anymore. This in my opinion was simply the best. Many thanks to @AreDigg for providing us with this excellent script and supporting it while it worked.

I have no idea if any other sources could work. Deezer is not available in my country. Discogs require an account and even after that may not have catalog as big as the Apple especially on the 0-day stuff. This script was that good.

I can't believe believe big corporations like Apple to be so shallow that they would want to regulate/monetize metadata.

That's how they become and stay big corporations.

It is what it is... At this moment the Apple Music Barcodes/ISRCs script is working, not as extensive as this wonderful Apple script, but at least you can see the composers for example.

Editing tags manually doesnt seem to trigger apple music in the music app. What am i doing wrong here?

The iTunes library won’t update itself after songs have been added. There are options to force this to happen though. See this post for info.

I did both get info and deleted the song and readded after editing tags but still no apple music is shown on the app . I added most of the tags except composer tag .

Mac I assume given the Music app? The Get Info trick doesn’t seem to work any longer unless you actually make a change. But this defeats the purpose.

Highlight the tracks you want to update in the Music app, then use the Applescript I suggested in the link. It will force the Music app to read the tags from the file and update the library.

i am using itunes on windows . i sync music to my devices through itunes.

Ah I assumed Mac because you mentioned the Music app and not iTunes. Still, use the Windows script instead and follow the other details. I am also on PC and keep my library of 25k songs in iTunes. But I have been using mp3tag to manage the metadata info for years, never iTunes. If you know exactly what files you changed, you can highlight these in iTunes then run the script. Or you can update your whole library if you choose. This could take a while, my library takes a couple of hours to go top to bottom.

Link to the script please, thanks

Thanks. I thought it's an MP3Tag script that works with Apple Music, my bad.

How do you get it to work?

It's a script for the internet browser.
You can install it with the help of script mananger. i.e. Tampermonkey.
https://www.tampermonkey.net/
If you visit a apple music album website, you can execute it.

@Reaperabx Have you got this working for you now?

Anyone looking to use apple music feature you can manually edit the tags with the help of the script mentioned above. And we need to add few more tags manually.

I can post the details if anybody needs it.
