I have Some .M4A Files with Comments & BPM TAG in Apple Music. When I Import those files to MP3TAG, the Comments & BPM Tag are not showing. How can I solve this ? I don't want to lose the Tags data available into my Apple Music Library / Traktor.
For anything to be analyzed from the distance, a screenshot of the extended tags dialogue from a single file with such a problem supports further attempts for a solution.
Could you show us such a screenshot, please?
There is no automatism in Mp3tag that scans through files and creates objects in the tag panel or file list.
You would have to customize both displays accordingly.
Check the extended tags dialogue to see which fields are actually in the files.
I did another test:
Traktor, Apple Music and MP3 tag opened.
For a specific file, When updating the "comment" field in Traktor, The comment field for the same file is updating in Apple Music. and vice versa.
But nothing is displayed in MP3 tag...
Any idea ?
No, sorry I am out. I use neither Apple Music nor Traktor so I cannot tell you what these 2 programs do to the files, if they do anything at all or if they save that information in a database which both can read (rather unlikely).
Traktor stores metadata in its Collection database. It is possible it writes back to the file is you check consistency. But I am surprised if it is able to update to the local Music App database, but it may have some hook into those. An easy way to check that is to delete the file in Music and then add it back. If the metadata is there then it is part of the file metadata. You can also check if other tools like foobar or exiftool reads it.
