M4A Files with BPM & Comment in Apple Music/Traktor not showing in MP3TAG

Hello,

I have Some .M4A Files with Comments & BPM TAG in Apple Music. When I Import those files to MP3TAG, the Comments & BPM Tag are not showing. How can I solve this ? I don't want to lose the Tags data available into my Apple Music Library / Traktor.

thanks

Apple Music shows the BPMs that you determined with Traktor?

yes the comments and bpm analyse with Traktor shows in Apple Music

For anything to be analyzed from the distance, a screenshot of the extended tags dialogue from a single file with such a problem supports further attempts for a solution.
Could you show us such a screenshot, please?

Hello, see example for this track Gonzales - Gogol.
The genre , bpm and comment is shown in Traktor and Apple Music...but nothing in MP3TAG.

There is no automatism in Mp3tag that scans through files and creates objects in the tag panel or file list.
You would have to customize both displays accordingly.
Check the extended tags dialogue to see which fields are actually in the files.

Here is the error message I have...."Not possible to access to the file through secure signets..."

Here is the list of fields in the extended dialogue tags...and I can not see the BPM and comments and genre...

The secure bookmark has not a lot to do with missing fields, please see here (and stay on topic or open a new thread)

thanks for the command. here the message error I have

I did another test:
Traktor, Apple Music and MP3 tag opened.
For a specific file, When updating the "comment" field in Traktor, The comment field for the same file is updating in Apple Music. and vice versa.
But nothing is displayed in MP3 tag...
Any idea ?

No, sorry I am out. I use neither Apple Music nor Traktor so I cannot tell you what these 2 programs do to the files, if they do anything at all or if they save that information in a database which both can read (rather unlikely).

I've asked for an example file a couple of days ago, but haven't heard back.

Hello Florian,

Here is an example of an mp3 file that have comment tags in Traktor and apple music..but nothing MP3TAG.

See print screen attached. MP3 has been sent to Florian's email

thanks for your support

Eric

You'd need to upload the file to the link I've sent you.

I am puzzled now - I thought, this was about m4a files?!

Initially yes

Then I converted the m4a in mp3… and here is the result .. any idea ?

Thanks

MP3 files can have different tag versions which are displayed with a certain priority.
So: do you have APE tags in the files? And do you read them?

Traktor stores metadata in its Collection database. It is possible it writes back to the file is you check consistency. But I am surprised if it is able to update to the local Music App database, but it may have some hook into those. An easy way to check that is to delete the file in Music and then add it back. If the metadata is there then it is part of the file metadata. You can also check if other tools like foobar or exiftool reads it.

I don’t know if I have an APE … how can I check this ? Let me know what info you need to help me to solve the problem
