After I have entered the artist and album in the search mask, the list of results appears. As soon as I move the mouse over the entries to select them, the program crashes without any errors or anything else. Strangely, this only happens with one album and not with every one...

I can't see any cover art thumbnails in your screenshot (first column).
Are they not displayed? Does it crash before the thumbnails are loaded?

I somehow have the same behavior at the moment with music brainz. When i go over the search results. The app crashes.

a) Specific Windows Version?
b) Mp3tag (32bit/64bit/Portable)?
It happens in a specific directory. Tried another directory and that worked fine.
Its windows 11 pro. 64bit version.
It may have to do with the directory depth of this specific folder. Let me test that for you.

Other albums in the same directory don't give me issues. So it is a specific album.
same for me... just a special album. The other albums from the directory did not cause a crash

The more example we can try, the better the chance to find any reason for this behaviour.
Hed Kandi - Stereo sushi 11.
When you do a search in music brainz for stereo sushi the app crashes. Has nothing to do with directories or something.
Same for me. I tried just "Turn Loose The Swans" without ARTIST and it crashes
I can reproduce it. Same on my side. Search entry: "Hed Kandi Stereo sushi"
Strange thing, both searches works for me on Windows 10 22H2 (Build 19045.5487) 64bit.
But I'm testing on 32bit Mp3tag v3.28c.
I will try it with the 64bit version in a few moments.
Some minutes later:
64bit Mp3tag v3.28c works for me too, with both ALBUMS.
With and without ARTIST, no crash.
I'm out of ideas for the moment, maybe others can see possible reasons?
