Tag Difference: ID3v2.3 vs. ID3v2.4

I hope I'm not in the wrong section but uh, as stated above, I'm curious about these tag versions. I understand that 2.3 is the most compatible compared to 2.4. I also understand that 2.4 supports multiple field tag although I'm quite unsure of that; like how they work and all.

  1. Can anyone explain to me what advantage 2.4 have over 2.3? Like I see 2.3 supports multiple field values like artist and genres already so what is the claim that 2.4 support multiple field?

  2. Is it smart to batch convert my library to 2.4? Since its the newer version...

  3. The explaination of 2.3 vs 2.4 is very coding-like explanation. Would really appreciate if someone could explain it simply but both comprehensive and extensive.

no, cause 2.3 is - as you wrote - more common.
You'll get more problems than advantages.
