All of a sudden when I retrieve album art my file names and tags are being changed Help?
Can you double-check if you use one of the Tag Sources from the Covert Art submenu? Only those are album-art only.
The others are also importing titles and other metadata (that can be individually checked and unchecked for import).
Filenames are never changed when retrieving album art. If this is really happening, I'd need more information on the exact steps you're performing.
Thank You for the quick response What I usually do is drag 20 songs into the program. I then right click and click on Discogs artist and album. If it finds the album I choose the cover art and it applies it nicely to the song file. I found music brainz will retrieve many albums that discogs might not find. After doing this I play the song and notice the song title has been changed so I retag the song, it's not horrible but it is concerning Very Truly Yours Kenneth Dotsey
Web source scripts that search for more than just the cover art expect you to align the found titles in the left list with the files in the right list of the web sources results page.
If you want to keep all the data as it is and only modify the picture, use the script

If the choosen album from MusicBrainz or Discogs change your existing title, the album was not the exactly matching one. You need to choose exactly the one with the same number of tracks in the same order you have it locally. Or you need to modify/align the order of the tracks manually.
I discovered that if you uncheck title when applying the cover art it leaves the tagging information alone
If you don't want to use the "Cover Art only" Websources, you can also untick all the metadata that you don't want to be applied to your tracks - not only the track TITLE:
Otherwise it could be that your track number (TRACK) or year (and many other informations) will be changed too.
how about using discogs can I configure discogs to stop changing my meta data
