[WS] Apple Music

@AreDigg The token has expired, could you generate another one please?

@Zyntaxyz check out the guide posted above your comment. You typically generate your own token using your Apple Developer Account (you can get an account as explained in the guide).

@AreDigg

API script Certificate has expired. Says the validity was until 21-07-2025. Now connection to Apple throws a SSL error. Will it be possible to provide a new updated certificate or any short guide how can we create our own ?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I can update it when I get the time. But it is a self-signed certificate for web server for the host "localhost"
There are thousands of guides online, so should be easy to find.

Thank you for the response. I Googled for such a guide which instructed me to download and install openssl but I'm on older OS (Win 7) so I'm reluctant to install anything newer. Would wait for you to update the certificate.

Many thanks for the continued support.

I added a new download for the certificate, but I will at some point rewrite the python code for newer Python versions as well as probably include the key generation.

That’ll be awesome. Hope that time comes soon.

@AreDigg I have one more request, the API version doesn’t write the storefront tag maybe because it’s not available from the API but I noticed it’s there in your WEB version. Will it be possible to write the storefront tag based on which storefront was quarried by the script to fetch the tags?

Kind regards

Ok, if it really needs to be private.

Hi, for a few days, I’ve tried the Itunes API, searching with ITUNESALBUMID as I’ve done for a few years except now I always get the same error: Sorry, No entries are matching your search criteria. I even tried albums I’ve tagged before and they are not working either. the search by name still works but isn’t perfect. Anyone know of a fix please?

I know I am jumping in a bit late but I have finally found a working one with full details including composer etc

ā€œApple Music 3 (Web)
Apple Music for MP3Tag (Web) 3.20.zip (43.7 KB) (01-05-2025)ā€

This one works for me, today I got Gucci Mane - Episodes and it tagged it perfectly.

Hello, I’d like to ask a few questions:

  1. What is the purpose of the localhost.zip file?

  2. If I want to fetch metadata from Apple Music for a specific country, such as Belgium, how should I do that?

Hey everyone, I’ve been using Mp3tag and this iTunes API script for a few years. Around 2023 I saw people experienced different issues so in order to prevent encountering the same, I stopped updating both Mp3tag app (still on v3.22) and this script.

Cut to today, where I notice most times I get from the API wrong results when I search, or errors that no results were found. I guess I have no choice but to update these.

I wanted to ask, where can I find full instructions how to install & configure this script? I tried searching but couldn’t find, I only have this forum saved in my bookmarks..

Sorry for asking something stupid but after so long I forgot and not sure how to update/reinstall this script. Would appreciate any help :folded_hands:

See the documentation how to put user-contributes tag source scripts into the right place:

Use the scripts as supplied in this thread.

You’re not alone—it has stopped working for me, too.

You are not alone. I thought it is network problems

yes Apple have made some adjustments to their web page
