Drag and drop from foobar2000 to Mp3tag to replace File List does no longer work with v3.28a

Unrelated, but I just noticed that in 3.28a my normal operation of drag-and-drop to load files directly from foobar2000 to Mp3Tag no longer works. I can still add to the file list with [Ctrl], but replacing the contents of an existing file list with new files via drag-and-drop no longer works as it did before. Is this expected and/or intended?

(If this post needs to be split into another thread, I'll be happy to oblige).

Hello @Florian,

I've narrowed down the culprit; the problem lies in my fb2k installation.
I'm using both the SimPlaylist and Facets plugins for foobar, and in both playlist viewer windows is where the issue manifests. In the standard Playlist View drag-and-drop works perfectly fine.

Since these plugins haven't been updated since 2011, I won't be asking for a compatibility fix from your end, nor will be expecting one.

  • CHG: added workaround for drop sources that don't support the link drop effect (e.g., iTunes). (#67363, #67368)

The drop sources workaround also fixed the issue in fb2k when using those specific (outdated) plugins.
