Hi,
I've just received a 2nd email in a week for a notification for a topic I've never read, opened, or was even aware of.
This is strange. In the notification panels, these have a small "linked" logo.

I never subscribed to these, again I never even opened them.
So how shall I NOT receive notifications for topics I never subscribed to ?

It's because the topics mentioned are quoting your topic
and your Email Preferences have notifications set to always:

This forum works in mysterious ways ^^;
Yet I think this should be a discrete, separate setting.
"Send me an email when someone quotes me, replies to my post, mentions my @username, or invites me to a topic"
has absolutely nothing to do with "send me an email when a topic mentions my topic".
